CNC Turning: production of rotating precision components

CNC Turning: production of rotating precision components

CNC turning

CNC turning is the key process for manufacturing cylindrical components intended for machinery, equipment and high-precision mechanical systems.

Shafts, pins, sleeves, bushings and flanges require perfectly concentric geometries and tight dimensional tolerances: qualities that Bernazzoli's turning department ensures through state-of-the-art CNC lathes and constant quality control.

Automation of work cycles enables high repeatability, essential for serial production or for functional components intended to be assembled into complex mechanical assemblies.

Our production department is equipped to process a wide range of metal materials, from thick structural steels to lightweight aluminum alloys. Thanks to the diversification of our in-house departments and the availability of multiple technologies (fiber laser cutting, waterjet, punching, CNC bending), we can choose the most suitable process for each material, preserving its mechanical properties and ensuring maximum dimensional accuracy.

Materials processed in the turning department:

  • Quenched and tempered steels (39NiCrMo3)

  • Quenched and tempered steel C45

  • Internally ground round bars

These materials are mainly machined for applications in the chemical sector, where high mechanical performance and component stability are required.

  • PUMA 300L
CNC horizontal lathes for roughing and finishing structural steels, stainless steel and alloys. Stability and rigidity make it possible to maintain tight tolerances even on complex cycles.

  • Zanoletti 250
Ideal for non-batch work, repairs and parts that exceed the dimensions of the CNC lathe. It offers versatility and greater dimensional capacity.

Integration with auxiliary processes

The turning department is closely integrated with the other internal machining operations, reducing cycle times and external steps.

Available complementary operations:

  • Drilling and threading
Carried out using ITAMA RD-1280H radial drills and SERRMAC RAG 25/L pillar drills.

  • Combined machining
The turned part can move directly to the milling centers for:

  • Holes

  • Shoulders

  • Slots

  • Mounting faces

This integrated structure makes it possible to supply finished components ready for assembly.
